hrudu <3 google chrome.

I like Google Chrome.  It’s perfect for leisurely surfing the net over breakfast cereal.

My favorite features are the Create Application Shortcut, separate process per tab and Incognito Windows — plus, I also like how the interface deals away with the clutter.  (And yet I persist to add a bookmark tab.)

Of course it’s far from perfect — it’s virtually impossible to eliminate ALL the bugs in any piece of software; harder even, to predict unexpected inputs from probably millions of users.

Will it take over Firefox?  Too early to tell.

Regardless: people will continue using whatever browser they’ve grown accustomed to — and maybe, some of that will switch over to the Chrome side of the fence.  There’s really no need for hateratin’ on something that gives people a choice.

I still use Firefox 3 for work.

What do you like/dislike about it?  Leave a comment with your bug encounters or favorite feature.

firefox 3 cookie problem.

This’ll be short.

I’m a big fan of Firefox.  For Firefox 3, I like the new bookmark system (sqlite) and the improved memory usage optimization.  So why can’t it save my cookies?

Reverting to Firefox 2.

Does this happen to you too?  Check this discussion if their remedy helps.

what the flock!

flock.jpg

So what if you can get the Firefox 3 Beta? Mikko introduced me to my new favorite browser: Flock!

At first glance, it looks like a heavily-skinned Firefox (and it partly is, Flock being built on-top of the Mozilla engine,) but the greatness lies in the nifty little add-ons. It has support for, ehem, Facebook, Flickr, Twitter, YouTube, Photobucket, Piczo, Blogger, Blogsome, LiveJournal, Typepad, WordPress.com, Xanga, del.icio.us and Magnolia. (I know, some of our other favorite sites still aren’t supported)

What does this mean? It means that whenever you have Flock open, you’re one click away from opening a sidebar that shows updates in your subscribed services, or, you could open the blog editor to OMNIPOST in your blogs, or, you could upload/browse photos from your Photobucket, — and, my absolute favorite — the star button next to the address box gives you the option of SIMULTANEOUSLY saving a link in your computer AND your del.icio.us account! (That’s less clicks for when updating all the supported sites!)

And since its Mozilla, Firefox add-ons are compatible. (You just have to re-install ’em again.) This makes most of my toolbar bookmark buttons redundant. 🙂

Plus, I added the Multiply and StumbleUpon toolbars, which adds 2 more sites that my Flock supports. Get it while it’s hot! (I’m a sucker for neat GUIs … and rounded edges. Yum!)
